A day in our life looks a little different than it used to. Two of my daughters are grown now, each carving out their own path in the world, but they’ll always be my “B’s.” They pop in and out of our daily rhythm, sometimes with a quick text or a phone call, sometimes stopping by just to visit. Watching them grow into their own has been bittersweet—part of my heart still remembers when they were little and underfoot, but now I get to see the women they’ve become, and that is a gift all its own.
At home, life is centered around my youngest, who is eight and full of curiosity. She’s homeschooled, which means our days are a mix of learning, creating, and simply living together. Mornings usually start slow, with breakfast and a little time to wake up before we dive into lessons. We might spend time reading together, working through math problems, or exploring something she’s curious about—often with plenty of breaks to play, draw, or sit outside. Homeschooling isn’t just about textbooks; it’s about letting her explore the world at her own pace, and I love being alongside her as she does.
Since I work from home, our life has a natural flow between my responsibilities and hers. Sometimes I’m at my desk answering calls or working on projects while she reads nearby or builds something with her hands. Other times, we take breaks together to go outside, bake something in the kitchen, or just laugh about silly things. It’s not always perfectly balanced, but it’s ours. The grown girls, the little one still learning, and me—holding space for it all. That’s what beesandmarie is really about: family woven into everyday life.
